The integration of business and social media is not a new concept.
They have over the years proven themselves to be inseparable when it comes to success. The extensive reach that social media has brought to the marketing campaigns all over the world is unmatched and has yet to see a worthy marketing adversary. With the business potential in the forefront of the minds of the creators of Facebook and Instagram, they have thrift-fully added some welcome additions to the functionality of their social media platforms that marketers need to be taking advantage of.
The Stories Platform
The newer stories platform that has been introduced by Facebook is, at the end of the day, another type of News Feed. It relies more on visuals and is pitted as becoming the platform to replace the traditional News Feed in terms of the exposure that a story receives. Although this is nothing new for Instagram users, they have added a few more options to Facebook Stories, influencing how they are used, as well as helping to improve the distribution and engagement of those who see it.
It does seem that Facebook users are lagging in their adaptation of this new feature, and it is generally referred to in the top section of the News Feeds, remaining blank most of the time.
This is where the marketing magic can now begin to happen. Here marketers have been presented with a golden opportunity to advertise directly with less competition, in a prime location.
