Embalm Skincare had a website that looked tired and converting below industry benchmark. When the founder originally approached us she just wanted an asthetic revamp of the website.
After intial discussions is quickly became clear that this brand required a some strategic direction before we could begin to consider the website revamp.
Due to tight budgets we conducted a mini brand strategy piece of work to refresh positioning, key messages and define the target audience.
Once happy with the new direction we were able to identify a design direction for the website. However after taking a look at the website backend we identified this website redesign was not going to be primarily an aesthetic focused job. The backend was a complete mess.
The site was running slow and letting them down. We needed to update plugins and "untangle" the spaghetti junction behind the scenes for efficient running. We also redesigned the information architecture to improve user experience and increase website conversion.
